Who is Bill Derrick?
Bill has over 50 years of extensive construction experience, the majority of that as the President at the Derrick Companies. He is married to his wife, Jeanne of 44 years. Together they enjoy spending time traveling as well as family time with their four children and their spouses and seven grandchildren.
In 2008, Bill helped lead his company through one of the greatest recessions since the Great Depression. After five years of a tough business climate, it looked like they were going to be able to take a deep breath and a sigh of relief, but another storm was brewing for Bill and his family, only this time it was an incurable blood cancer: multiple myeloma.
Through these storms, Bill has been given a gift - the ability to understand and share an inspiring testament to the human spirit's resilience, and the ability to see the potential blessings hidden in life's trials. With his book “Restored by the Storm” he continues to advocate and inspire a steadfast, positive attitude rooted in faith.

It is a very serious non-curable but treatable cancer. Life expectancy of myeloma patients are increasing with additional and better treatments. Even those patients that are in remission know that the cancer will return with time.
